Sweet Ride

Ava got her first bike. Starting about a week and a half before her birthday she would get a card in the mail everyday from my parents with a dollar in it. She saved all her dollars in her purse and would count them numerous times a day. She got a few extra dollars on her birthday and eventually wound up with $15. She spent a while just enjoying her money until last Saturday when she made her first purchase. Matt found some people selling a used bike that he thought would work for her. We went to their house, checked it out, and Ava said she liked it. When we told her to give the lady her money she just straight handed over the whole purse. The lady gave it back and Ava gave her the wad of $1 bills. And they threw in a dolly stroller free so now we have three in our house. Perfect.

Ava rides pretty well. A little bit like a drunk, but not too bad. She's getting the hang of it quickly. She's got skills.

In other news, I would like to thank the NHP for having compassionate, understanding officers on staff. Yes, I was on a cell phone. And yes, that is why I didn't realize that I had entered a construction zone. But in my defense, my sob story was 100% true. I forgot my directions , I don't live in Lincoln so I had no idea where I was going, and I was trying to memorize the directions my sister was reading to me over the phone. I don't think it hurt that I had two really cute kids asleep in the backseat or that I'm really hot. Kidding, I'm kidding. Kind of. Needless to say I escaped a double fine ticket. Besides, the Highway Patrol and I have always been tight.

Lisa,

I want the true story, did you cry or drop cleavland? Only one of those two things get people out of tickets. I do both regularly to get out of tickets...

Lisa,

Is this a good time for me to tell the people who follow your blog that you have been pulled over before JUST BECAUSE you are so hot?

Yay for using your sexiness (um, I mean mad people skills) to get outta that one! Ava is so dang adorable. But I think she is in for serious trouble when she gets into the teenage mall shopping sprees:)

I'm sure that this is just one more of the many that you have been able to get out of...:)

Ava is learning to ride much ealier than her dad. She won't have to worry about sharing the bike. It is too girly. Wakely wouldn't ride Brooklyn's because it was pink!!! So he played on the
small big wheels!!! LaKay

I would like to see how you would get out of a ticket if I were to give you one.

I got out of a ticket by flexing my biceps and ripping my shirt once.
